MOSCOW, Sep 21 Minnesota Timberwolves NBA shooting guard Anthony Edwards fined $40,000 for using offensive and derogatory language on social media, according to the association's Twitter page. Last week, Edwards made comments against gay people while watching a group of people standing on the sidewalk while recording a video. Later, the basketball player deleted the video and admitted his actions were inappropriate. «What I said was immature, hurtful and disrespectful. I'm sorry. It's unacceptable for me that anyone speaks in such an offensive way, there is no excuse for this. I was brought up better,» Edwards wrote on Twitter. Edwards is 21 years old. He was selected by the Minnesota with the first overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft.
