Earlier, the Gymnastic Ethics Foundation (GEF) appeal tribunal partially granted the appeal of Kulyak’s claim, however, the athlete’s suspension from participating in all FIG-sanctioned events or competitions organized by affiliated federations by FIG members from May 17, 2022 to May 16, 2023, remains in effect. The FSGR turned to the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) with a request to allow the Russian to compete at the Spartakiad. «These competitions are held by the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, not the federation. We notified the International Gymnastics Federation and the disciplinary commission about this and did not receive objections from them, so he (Ivan Kulyak) will participate,» Titov said. Artistic gymnastics competitions as part of the Spartakiad will be held from September 26 to October 1 in Kazan.
