File photoSEUL, Sep 22 South Korean and US Presidents Yoon Seok Yeol and Joe Biden agreed in a brief meeting to strengthen cooperation to «extended deterrence» of the DPRK and respond to its «provocations,» Yonhap News Agency reported, citing «The leaders assessed the consultations between South Korea and the United States on extended containment and agreed to further strengthen bilateral cooperation to deter North Korean attacks and develop joint plans to respond to its provocations,» the South Korean presidential administration said. Yoon Seok Yeol and Biden met at a fundraising conference for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria hosted by Biden. According to Yonhap's agency, Yoon Seok Yeol was not originally invited to the conference, but was later added to the list of attendees. His conversation with Biden lasted less than a minute. The short meeting, apparently, replaced the failed summit on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session, announced earlier by the South Korean side.
