
MOSCOW, Sep 23 Independent Integrity Division Interim Nominating Committee in boxing (BIIU) dropped all charges against the head of the International Boxing Association (IBA), Russian Umar Kremlev, in the case of violations during the election of the organization's president, according to the IBA website. Kremlev was re-elected IBA president on May 14. He remained the only candidate after his rival Boris van der First was removed from the election. He challenged this decision in the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and won the case. In June, Kremlev proposed a new presidential election.» The BIIU received three complaints regarding certain actions allegedly taken by various individuals, including members of the IBA headquarters, during the election period. According to the complaints, these actions were allegedly taken in favor of candidate Umar Kremlev. The BIIU filed a case against Kremlyov under Articles 25.1.11 (damaging the image or reputation of another candidate), 25.15 (maintaining neutrality on the part of the head office) and 25.2 (pre-election campaign outside the election period) of the convention and election regulations.22 September 2022 years after a thorough check of all available documents and information, the BIIU has decided to drop all charges against the Kremlin,» the statement said.
