President Vladimir Putin signed a decree according to which full-time and part-time students of universities and colleges will be granted a deferment from military service during mobilization. This was reported by the press service of the Kremlin.

“The deferment is provided to students studying full-time and part-time forms of study in state-accredited educational programs of secondary vocational and higher education in state educational organizations, in scientific organizations and receiving education at the appropriate level for the first time,” the Kremlin noted.
Putin announced the start of “partial mobilization” on 21 September. The Ministry of Defense initially claimed that students would not be called up for service, while The Village wrote that students from the Buryat university began to be taken “straight from the class.”
