
MOSCOW, Sep 25 New York Rangers Russian goaltender Igor Shesterkin will perform in the new season in a mask with the image of the Statue of Liberty, as evidenced by the photo on the club's Twitter. The mask is made in red, white and blue colors. It also depicts the 31st number, under which the Russian performs. Shesterkin is 26 years old. He has been with the Rangers since 2019. Last season, Shesterkin won the Vezina Trophy, a prize awarded to the best goaltender in the NHL regular season. In the past regular season, Shesterkin played 53 games and scored six shutouts. The Russian goalkeeper became the leader of the NHL season in terms of reliability coefficient (2.07) and the percentage of shots saved (93.5%). The new NHL season starts on October 7th.
