Head coach of the Russian national synchronized swimming team Tatyana Pokrovskaya said she learned on Monday about the departure of five-time Olympic champion Anastasia Davydova from Russia. Davydova won five gold medals at the 2004, 2008 and 2012 Olympics. She has 13 victories at the world championships. She ended her career in 2012. Davydova is a member of the Presidium of the Synchronized Swimming Federation of Russia. “I only found out about this yesterday. For me, this is a surprise. I can’t comment on it,” said Pokrovskaya.
