MOSCOW, Sep 28 The Norwegian Ski Federation refused to participate in the meetings committees of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) due to the fact that Russian representatives were invited there. In total, a little less than 30 delegates from Norway were supposed to go to Switzerland. «I was going to take the train, but now I'm sitting at home. I was just told that the Norwegian delegation would not go. Now it's difficult to sit at the same table with the Russians,» a representative told VG Norwegian federation Torbjorn Broks Pettersen. «The current FIS policy towards Russia and Belarus applies only to athletes, not to officials. Therefore, all members of the FIS committees have the right to participate in meetings,» the FIS.FIS press service comments at the end of the publication. February suspended Russian and Belarusian athletes from international competitions due to events in Ukraine. The decision was open-ended as long as it remains in effect and is due to be reviewed by the FIS Council on 22 October.
