Head of the Department for Organizing Trade Restriction Activities new psychoactive substances and counteracting doping of the Office for the Control of Legal Drug Trafficking of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Andrey Popkov said that at the moment the issue of increasing liability for inducing doping is being studied. «There are few criminal cases under doping articles. the use of substances and (or) methods prohibited for use in sports «are of little severity, and the issue of increasing liability is being worked out,» Popkov said during the international sports forum «Russia is a sports power» in the Kemerovo region. He also said that from 2019 to 2022, the Ministry of Internal Affairs recorded about 120 administrative anti-doping rule violations.
