In the Rabotkinsky Agrarian College of the Volzhsky settlement of the Nizhny Novgorod region, anti-terrorist exercises were held without informing the students about them in advance. The teachers locked the students in their classrooms, as a result they began to write to their friends that a terrorist attack was taking place. The administration confirmed to NN.RU that the exercises were announced to the students only a few minutes later.
The college added that the exercises were held “without instructions from law enforcement agencies in connection with the recent tragedy in Izhevsk.”
“A prearranged signal sounded, after which all teachers took protective measures: they locked students in their classrooms, they told everyone to be quiet. Ten minutes later, a prearranged signal sounded through the college, saying that the terrorist threat had passed. After that, everyone went outside, we counted everyone and returned to classes. Not a single person was missing during the exercise,» said Vladimir Raspopov, deputy director for academic affairs.
According to Raspopov, the teachers were instructed in advance how to behave in the event of a terrorist attack — they closed the premises with internal locks or locks there, where they were, or used improvised items: chairs, tables and mops.
On the morning of September 26, shooting came at Izhevsk school No. 88, as a result of which 17 people died, 11 of whom were children; 22 children and two adults were injured. The shooter himself committed suicide.
