The court appointed 9 years in a strict regime colony to the Novosibirsk police officer who killed a transgender girl

The Iskitimsky District Court of the Novosibirsk Region sentenced former police officer Denis Kalinin to nine years in a strict regime colony for killing his transgender girlfriend. This is reported by Axioma.

The prosecutor asked him for 12 years in prison in a murder case (Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code). Kalinin pleaded guilty. He was also ordered to pay a million rubles to the mother of the deceased Victoria Basakovskaya as compensation for non-pecuniary damage.

Mediazona told this story in detail. In October 2020, in the Siberian village of Burmistrovo, 20-year-old police sergeant Kalinin strangled Basakovskaya, whom he had met for more than six months.

The young man cut off the finger of the deceased, took the phone, corresponded on behalf of the deceased with her friends and posted stories in instagram, pretending that Basakovskaya is alive. He took the body out of the village, where he threw stones.
