European countries have become absolutely dependent on the United States on the issue of policy towards Russia, this can turn into a real disaster not only for them, but for the entire world community, writes the Chinese edition of the Global Times. «It is an absolute tragedy for Europe that her dependence on Washington has increased to the point where she has to dance to the tune on issues relating to relations with Moscow. <…> Ukraine,» the publication reads. European governments have made it their main task to fight the so-called Russian threat, while completely forgetting about economic interests. In addition, Washington is trying in every possible way use Europe to avoid the worst-case economic crisis in their own country.
"When the conflict in Ukraine escalated, many Europeans thought that they, together with the Americans, were resisting the Russians. But reality proved them wrong: Europe is another piece of meat on the US cutting board", the author of the text summed up.
After the start of the special operation, the West increased sanctions pressure on Moscow, which led to an increase in prices for electricity, fuel and food in Europe and the USA. Vladimir Putin said that the imposed restrictions dealt a serious blow to the entire global economy. According to him, the main goal of the West is to worsen the lives of millions of people.
