MOSCOW, Oct 5, Alexander Sergeev. The President of the Russian Football Union (RFU), Alexander Dyukov, told reporters that he sees nothing but politics in the joint application of Ukraine, Spain and Portugal to host the 2030 World Cup. Earlier, the Royal Spanish Football Federation and the Portuguese Football Federation included the Ukrainian Football Association in the Iberian bid to host the 2030 World Cup. “This is their right. The application needs to be studied. I don’t see any commercial or marketing logic in such an application. The accession of Ukraine did not make the initial application stronger. I don’t see anything other than politics,” Dyukov said. Morocco, jointly Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Greece, jointly Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay and Chile also claim to organize the tournament.
