Archive photoYEREVAN, Oct 5 Russian Ambassador to Yerevan Sergey Kopyrkin called the allegations that Russia allegedly «turns away» from Armenia and the South Caucasus speculation. Answering a question from journalists about a possible meeting on Thursday in Prague, Armenian Prime Minister Nikola Pashinyan and Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, Kopyrkin noted that Russia has always declared its support for the process of normalizing relations. «We support all steps, all processes that will ensure peace, prevent violence, the use of force, escalation and lay the foundation for a truly safe peaceful development of the region. It is very important for us that this region be peaceful, secure, and contribute to regional and international economic processes. For Russia, this is very important, it is vital. We are neighboring the South Caucasus region, and therefore any speculation about that Russia is turning away from the region, that Russia is turning away from Armenia is nothing more than speculation.
