MOSCOW, Oct 6 Spaniard Julen Lopetegui sacked as head coach Sevilla, according to the official website of the club. Sevilla announced the termination of the agreement with Lopetegui after the team's defeat in the third round match of the Champions League group stage from Borussia Dortmund with a score of 1:4. Lopetegui led Sevilla in the summer of 2019. The coach helped the team win the Europa League in the 2019/20 season. After seven rounds in the Spanish championship, Sevilla are in 17th place in the standings with five points. In three matches of the group stage of the Champions League, Sevilla scored one point and is in third place in the group G table. Previously, the Spanish edition of Mundo Deportivo reported that the team's management is considering the candidacy of the Argentine specialist Jorge Sampaoli as a replacement for Lopetegui.
