At the request of the Prosecutor General's Office, Roskomnadzor blocked the website of Echo, a new media project launched by former employees of Echo of Moscow. This is evidenced by the data of the service for checking the blocking of pages and sites.
The site, launched on the evening of October 2, was blocked on the basis of Article 15.3 of the Law «On Information», which regulates the procedure for restricting access to information with calls for unrest, extremism or participation in unauthorized rallies.
According to the GlobalCheck service, all operators have already blocked Echo's websites.
Roskomnadzor disabled Ekho Moskvy was off the air and blocked its websites on March 1 at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office for covering the war in Ukraine and «systematic calls for extremist activity.»
