MOSCOW, Oct 7 Winnipeg Jets Russian goalie Mikhail Berdin will not be to play for the team in the 2022/23 season, according to the official website of the National Hockey League (NHL) club. This decision was made in accordance with the recommendation of the joint NHL and Players Union (NHLPA) Substance Abuse and Behavioral Health Program. Berdin, 24, will be equated with a suspended player, so the club will not pay him a salary, and his earnings will not be counted in the payroll. As part of an agreement between the club, the NHL, the NHLPA and the player, Berdin will be allowed to sign a one-season contract with the club not from North America. Agent Dan Milstein said on Twitter that Berdin would play in the Continental Hockey League (KHL) to be closer to his family.
