MOSCOW, Oct 7 The Norwegian Ski Association will consider boycotting international competitions in case of the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes, Dagbladet quotes the head of the Tove organization Mo Dürhaug. At the end of February, the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) suspended Russian and Belarusian athletes from international competitions due to events in Ukraine. The decision was open-ended as long as it remains in effect and is due to be reviewed by the FIS Council on 22 October. Earlier, FIS Secretary General Michel Vion said that the organization is considering allowing Russian and Belarusian athletes to compete under a neutral flag. «We want them (Russian skiers) to remain banned while the situation in Ukraine continues. The Norwegian Ski Association will consider boycott issue. It's too early to say anything, but there is no doubt what our position is. We sent a letter to the FIS in which we believe that the organization should work on a ban on both athletes and managers, «- quotes Dyurhaug Dagbladet. At the end of September, the President of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR), Elena Vyalbe, said that at a meeting with the FIS leadership, she was given to understand that after the announcement of partial mobilization in Russia and referenda in the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, the issue of providing Russian athletes of neutral status are actually removed from the FIS agenda. The Norwegian Ski Association withdrew its representatives from participating in the meeting with the FIS leadership due to the participation of the Russian side in it.
