MOSCOW, Oct 11 Serbian women's volleyball team beat Poland in the quarterfinals match of the World Cup. The meeting in Gliwice, Poland ended with a score of 3-2 (21:25, 25:21, 25:19, 24:26, 16:14) in favor of the reigning Serb world champions. In another game of the 1/4 finals, the national team Brazil beat the Japanese team — 3-2 (18:25, 18:25, 25:22, 27:25, 15:13). The Serbian team will play against the US team in the semifinals, and the Brazilians will meet with the Italians. The World Cup, which is taking place in Poland and the Netherlands, will end on 15 October. Earlier, the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) suspended the national teams of Russia and Belarus from participating in international competitions and deprived the Russian Federation of the right to host the 2022 men's world championship.
