MOSCOW, Oct 14, Alexander Govorov. Victor Maigurov was elected President of the Union biathletes of Russia (RBU) for the next four years, according to the RBU Telegram channel. The reporting and election conference was held on Friday in Moscow. Also, Vice-President of the RBU Alexei Nuzhdov applied for the post. Maigurov was supported by 31 out of 54 delegates. The vote was secret. Repeat elections of the head of the RBU were required after June 23 at the reporting and election conference, none of the candidates could get 2/3 of the votes to win in the first round. 35 delegates then voted for Maygurov, 18 for Nuzhdov. This time, 50 percent plus two votes were required for election. At the same conference in June, a new charter of the organization was approved. Changes were made to it, in particular, the procedure for electing the head of the organization was changed, the presidium and council of the RBU were abolished, and an executive committee was formed instead. The Ministry of Justice of Russia registered the new charter of the SBR on August 22, and the corresponding entry was made in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities on August 30. Earlier it was reported that the adoption of the charter of the RRF by the Ministry of Justice is one of the conditions for holding repeated elections for the head of the organization.
