MOSCOW, Oct 14 Russian rider Sergey Karyakin in a letter available , turned to the President of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) Mohammed bin Sulayem with a request to cancel a special paper for Russians condemning the special operation required to participate in the Dakar rally raid. Earlier, Karyakin said that pilots from Russia are not allowed to participate in international competitions, including Dakar, without a written statement condemning the Russian special operation in Ukraine. At the end of September, the Russian KAMAZ-master team announced that it would not take part in the Dakar rally, as it considered it impossible for itself to sign such documents of a political nature and participate in competitions on such conditions. «Our team was unable to continue participating in the Cup calendar of the world because of the need to sign a special paper for Russian athletes. In my opinion, the signing of this document contradicts the basics of neutrality in politics, which is a universal fundamental ethical principle described in article 3 of the FIA code of ethics,» Karyakin's letter says.
