MOSCOW, 16 Oct. Serbia's existence depends on friendship with Russia, Interior Minister Alexander Vulin said in an interview with the Novosti newspaper.
"I believe that friendship with Russia is of great importance and that without it we risk physical disappearance Serbia. <…> Relations with Russia, China and other free countries <…> is the future of Serbia", he believes.
According to the minister, Belgrade is being insanely blackmailed by European partners who demand sanctions against Moscow. «The sooner we accept that they do not want us and that there is no place for us there (in the EU. — Ed.), the better for us. Attitude towards the European Union is not a matter of emotions, but of rational decisions, «Vulin emphasized. Earlier, the head of the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs sharply responded to criticism of the European Union because for Belgrade's refusal to support restrictive measures against Russia. According to him, Brussels is clearly demonstrating its readiness at any time to find a reason for postponing the republic's accession to the EU, as it puts forward a large list of demands on the country, ranging from the recognition of Kosovo, the rejection of the Republika Srpska (part of Bosnia and Herzegovina) and ending with anti-Russian sanctions.
