In Tatarstan, former police trainee Ilnar Garipov was detained and arrested in the case of torturing a detainee with a package. This is reported by Axioma.
The court sent Garipov to a pre-trial detention center in the case of abuse of power with the use of special equipment (paragraphs «a», «b», «c» of part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code).
According to the investigation, in November 2016, Garipov, being a trainee, together with two policemen, forced confessions from a resident of Nizhnekamsk, Ildar Kamaleev.
According to Kamaleev, he was detained because of a fight in the entrance and under torture forced to confess that it was he who had beaten the victim. Kamaleev claimed that the police stuffed his mouth with a floor cloth, put a plastic bag over his head and beat him.
The man identified the policemen as Mikhail Logachev and Rinat Akhmetshin, who were arrested in 2018 in another case of torture. Garipov managed to escape. He did not come on the agenda, then he was put on the wanted list, in which the trainee was for four years.
