MOSCOW, Oct 20 Head of the State Duma Tourism Committee Sangadzhi Tarbaev («New People») said that the transfer of the functions of Rostourism to the Ministry of Economic Development in connection with its abolition today is probably optimal and more effective. Earlier on Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the abolition of the Federal Agency for Tourism and the transfer of its functions to the Ministry of Economic Development. «The management model is changing, but the goals and the tasks of developing the tourism industry remain. Probably, at this stage, this model is optimal and more effective,» Tarbaev told reporters. According to the parliamentarian, the decision concerns the executive branch of government and does not affect the legislative work of deputies. Legislators are ready to interact «with any federal authority that will be entrusted with the appropriate powers,» he assured.
