Archival photoDONETSK, Oct 26 A Ukrainian overseer at a prisoner-of-war detention facility was delighted with the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge and had no doubt that Kyiv had staged it, Alexey Shalygin, a sergeant from the DPR who had returned from Ukrainian captivity, told RIA Novosti. “His hands were already shaking, when he held the camera, he was so enthusiastic, so wild, he talks excitedly,” Shalygin said. According to him, the senior warden went into the cell and began to show the video to the prisoners. The warder had no doubts that the attack was organized by Ukraine, Shalygin stressed. At that moment, the Ukrainian employee believed that it was not an explosion, but a missile strike, the source added. On the Crimean bridge, early in the morning on October 8, a truck was blown up. As a result, seven fuel tanks of the railway train caught fire, and two automobile spans of the bridge partially collapsed. Two days after the explosion, the Russian Armed Forces began to strike at the Ukrainian infrastructure. As Russian President Vladimir Putin stated, by the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge, Kyiv put itself on a par with the most odious terrorist groups, and «it is simply impossible to leave crimes of this kind unanswered.»
