Pashinyan also stated the need for a clear political assessment of the CSTO «regarding the Azerbaijani aggression against the sovereign territory of Armenia on May 12, 2021 and after that, including on September 13-14, 2022» , and the development of a concrete roadmap for the restoration of the territorial integrity of Armenia. Following the meeting, the foreign ministers of the CSTO countries were instructed to agree on a draft decision, the press service said. On the night of September 13, hostilities broke out on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, the parties accused each other of starting the escalation. Yerevan stated that the Azerbaijani military fired at the border areas of Armenia — Gegharkunik, Vayots Dzor, Syunik regions (connects Armenia with Iran) using artillery and drones.
