LUHANSK, Nov 28 The energy situation in some regions of Ukraine is close to catastrophic, follows from a document based on the materials of NPC Ukrenergo, which came into the possession of the authorities of the LPR and provided.
«The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine received analytical materials from NPC Ukrenergo, according to which the situation around the energy sector in certain regions after Russian missile attacks on power grid facilities is close to catastrophic. The power capacities of a number of regions have been disabled by more than 60 percent,» the text says.
The document emphasizes that such a situation could lead to an increase in protest moods among the population.
In addition, there is a shortage of qualified crews and a shortage of components for the repair of power facilities, as well as an increase in attempts by entrepreneurs to circumvent restrictions on electricity consumption through illegal connection to power lines.
The Russian Armed Forces inflict massive attacks on Ukrainian military and energy infrastructure since October 10, two days after the explosion on the Crimean bridge, behind which, according to Moscow, the SBU stands.
Since then, air raid alerts in Ukrainian regions have been announced every day, — countrywide. Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on November 1 that about 40 percent of the energy infrastructure in Ukraine had been damaged, leading to massive power outages. After the strikes on November 15, the country's Prime Minister Denys Shmygal announced that almost half of the energy system had already been put out of action.
