The Khabarovsk “Council of Fathers” bought out a batch of books “Summer in a Pioneer Tie” and “What the Swallow Is Silent About” and handed them over for processing

Activists of the Khabarovsk «Council of Fathers», an organization under the ombudsman for children's rights in the region, bought books about LGBT relations and handed them over for recycling. A video of the action was posted on social networks by one of the event participants, history teacher Vladislav Kushnirenko.

Attention to the video was drawn by the telegram channels «Rise» and «Caution, news». “I am happy to do it. It's tear. It's all disgusting, miserable, and this should not be in Russia. It just shouldn't be. If the West has decided to go crazy, that is the right of the West. We are not the West, we are a separate civilization, a great civilization with a thousand-year history. We have our own values based on Orthodoxy, we are the third Rome, we don’t need it, ”Kushnirenko says on the recording and tears the book over the conveyor.

Co-chairman of the Council of Fathers Andrei Nikonov said that the destruction of books with “LGBT propaganda” was the desire of the parents, and, according to him, such an action had already been carried out before. “This time, Deputy Chairman of the City Duma Yuri Yagodin expressed a desire to go with us. He had the idea to buy literature, he bought it, he paid for it, ”Nikonov explained.

On November 18, the AiF Khabarovsk newspaper published a video with a raid of activists in local bookstores — they were looking for a novel by Elena Malisova and Katerina Silvanova “Summer in a Pioneer Tie” on the shelves about the relationship between a pioneer and a leader, a continuation of this story called “What the Swallow is Silent About”, as well as the work of the American writer Casey McQuiston «Red, White and Royal Blue», which tells about the love of the son of the President of the United States and the British prince.

Then the owner of one of the bookstores told the activists that they had come there illegally and said that she would not remove LGBT literature as long as publishing houses continue to openly sell it and until President Vladimir Putin signs amendments about « promotion of non-traditional sexual relations” among people of all ages.

As a result, it was from this store, Kushnirenko explained today, that the «Council of Fathers» bought the books in order to dispose of them. “Yes, we personally brought some profit to this entrepreneur. But we made a "control shot" sale of LGBT literature in Khabarovsk and, again, prevented gay propaganda from getting into the minds of children and youth,” Kushnirenko noted.

Nikonov added that initially they wanted to burn the books, but «they went in a more humane way — they disposed of them, so that later the recycled paper would go to peaceful and good deeds.» The co-chairman of the «Council of Fathers» emphasized that he had not read the novels that he helped to destroy.

Back in August, a month after the proposal of State Duma deputies on a complete ban on «propaganda of non-radio relations», Roskomnadzor recommended «within the framework of self-regulation of the book industry» to remove books with LGBT topics from sale . Prior to this, members of A Just Russia in Nizhny Tagil, at the request of the local diocese, bought unsold copies of Summer in a Pioneer Tie in Chitai-Gorod to burn them, but later said that the statement was made “on emotions.”
