28-year-old Tushkanov taught history at school No. 1 in the city of Mikun. In the winter of 2021, he was fired after he came out with a “Be silent or die” poster on the day of rallies in support of Alexei Navalny.
After the start of the war in Ukraine, Tushkanov was fined twice for posts on VKontakte article on «discrediting» the actions of the military (part 1 of article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).
