MOSCOW, Dec 16 Metro in Kyiv is unlikely to work 17 December, said the deputy of the Kyiv Council Ksenia Semenova.
«The metro is unlikely to run tomorrow. But there will be more buses on the routes. It's good that it's Saturday,» Semyonova wrote on social networks. According to her, «60% of Kyivans are now without electricity, 70% without water.»
Earlier, the Ukrainian publication Obshchestvennoe, citing Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko, reported that electricity and water supply in the capital should be restored approximately by the morning of December 17th. The media reported that Kyiv's public transport was overcrowded on Friday evening due to a lack of buses.
On Friday morning, an air raid alert was announced throughout Ukraine. Ukrainian media reported explosions in various regions. The deputy head of the office of Vladimir Zelensky, Kyrylo Tymoshenko, said that due to damage to energy infrastructure facilities throughout the country, emergency power outages are being introduced.
The RF Armed Forces started striking Ukrainian infrastructure on October 10, two days after the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge, behind which, according to the Russian authorities, the Ukrainian special services stand. The strikes are carried out on energy, defense industry, military command and communications facilities. Since then, air alerts have been announced in the Ukrainian regions every day, sometimes throughout the country.
