MOSCOW, 18 Dec Readers of the Polish edition of Dziennik Gazeta reacted to commentary by the chief commandant of the police of Poland, Yaroslav Shimchik, on the incident with the explosion of a gift from Ukraine, which occurred in his office.
As the general said on the air of the RMF radio station, he accidentally fired a grenade launcher, as he believed that he was presented with a used weapon in Ukraine. With reference to its sources, the radio station claims that Shimchik received two anti-tank grenade launchers as a gift. Probably, we are talking about German RGW-90 grenade launchers, which, according to the Ukrainians, should have been used.

Earlier, the Polish police reported that in In the office of the chief commandant of the police, a gift exploded, which he received during his visit to Ukraine on December 11-12. Two people were injured as a result of the incident. The Polish side turned to the Ukrainian side with a request to provide appropriate explanations. According to radio station Zet, citing its own sources, the grenade launcher was brought into the country without any control by a special train that runs between Ukraine and the Polish border town of Przemysl.
