«The EU will consider Kosovo's application to join the bloc as soon as the chairmanship is handed over to Sweden in January,» the agency said.
In mid-December, Prime Minister of the self-proclaimed Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, submitted Pristina's application to the EU to the Czech Republic presiding in the Council of the European Union.
The independence of Kosovo out of 27 EU countries is not recognized by Spain, Greece, Cyprus, Slovakia and Romania.
