WASHINGTON Dec 20 The US has strategic bombing capabilities aircraft sufficient to deter all adversaries, despite the suspension of the operation of B-2 aircraft, said Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder.
«As you know, we have B-52s that are capable of carrying conventional and nuclear weapons … I'm confident that we retain the bombing capabilities that we need to deter adversaries,» Ryder said at a media briefing.
The US Air Force has suspended flights of B-2 stealth bombers for an indefinite period after an accident that occurred with one of these machines on December 10 at an air base in Missouri. In addition to the B-2 and B-52, US strategic aviation includes B-1 bombers.
