WASHINGTON, Dec 21 Volodymyr Zelensky said his visit in the United States became possible thanks to the restoration of control over the situation in Ukraine with the use of Western military assistance.
On his first foreign trip since the beginning of the Russian military operation, Zelensky meets with US President Joe Biden at the White House.
«I really wanted to arrive earlier, and Mr. President knows about it, but I could not, because the situation was too difficult. And now, if I arrived, it means that we are in control of the situation thanks to the support first of all thanks to your support,» he said.
Zelensky, as a sign of gratitude, gave Biden a military award of a certain Captain Pavlo. The officer, according to him, serves in the HIMARS MLRS battery and himself asked Zalensky to give Biden his military merit cross.
