
MOSCOW, Dec 23 Kenya and Russia are working to establish a regular direct flights, the country's ambassador to Moscow, Benson Ogutu, said in an interview.
According to him, it is first necessary to sign a bilateral agreement on cooperation in the air sector.
"Now we <…> ; we are negotiating with the leadership of Russia and air carriers regarding the signing of an appropriate agreement,” Ogutu said.
The diplomat noted that Moscow and Nairobi had agreed to launch charter flights, but now they are not carried out due to certain circumstances.
«But we are aimed at establishing direct flights, this would facilitate the exchange between our countries in the field of tourism, business, export,» the ambassador added.
Kenya's Minister-Counselor in Moscow Winnie Mwanjala previously told the agency that the country is ready to receive both charter and regular flights amid the cancellation of many flights from Russia to foreign countries.
