MOSCOW, Dec 26 In Pierce County, Washington, USA , unknown people attacked three electrical substations, the county sheriff's department reported on its website.
«A total of three properties were vandalized: two Tacoma Public Utilities and one Puget Sound Energy,» the agency said.
Unidentified people entered the substation and committed acts of vandalism against the equipment. At the same time, they did not steal anything from the territories of the facilities. An investigation is now underway, so far no one has been detained.
Due to the incident, more than 14,000 people were left without electricity.
According to the ABC TV channel, which refers to the information of the Puget Sound Energy company, the supply of electricity to almost 7.7 thousand subscribers was restored 2.5 hours after the incident. In turn, Tacoma Public Utilities restored power to 7.3 thousand consumers on Sunday by 18:30 local time (5:30 Moscow time Monday).
