WASHINGTON, Dec 26 At least 50 people died in The United States by Monday morning in incidents related to the winter storm, counted NBC News.
Most of all victims — at least 14 — turned out to be in the city of Buffalo in the west of the state of New York, where more than a meter of snow fell.
«Ranging from the Great Lakes near Canada to the Rio Grande along the Mexican border, the storm has killed at least 50 people as of Monday morning… Deaths reported in 12 states — Colorado, Illinois, Kansas , Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Wisconsin.
Buffalo police quoted by NBC as saying the dead are being found «in the streets and in cars.»
New York Gov. Katie Hokul, in an interview with CNN, called the natural disaster «the most devastating storm in Buffalo's long history.» According to her, 15,000 people remain without electricity in the city and the surrounding area, and repair work is delayed until Tuesday.
