
MINSK, Dec 26 Belarus opened a new border outpost on Monday on the border with Ukraine, the press service of the Belarusian State Border Committee reported.
«Modular-type frontier post «Gden» was opened on the border with Ukraine,» the report says.
The grand opening of a new border outpost took place in the village of Gden, Bragin District (southeast of Belarus). The event was attended by the First Deputy Chairman of the State Border Committee, Major General Igor Butkevich, Assistant to the President — Inspector for the Gomel Region Sergei Bartosh, Bishop of Turov and Mozyr Leonid, local authorities and military personnel of the Gomel border group.
The section of the border guarded by the outpost adjoins the territory of the Polessky State Radiation-Ecological Reserve. The border with Ukraine is marked with temporary border markers.
The State Civil Procedure Committee of Belarus noted that the modular outpost «Gden» is an example of how it is possible to provide a comfortable environment for the service and life of the personnel of the border service in the field.
The facilities of the subdivision are located in 18 compact multifunctional modules, which are equipped with life support systems and autonomous power sources. The premises are equipped with household appliances and furniture, there is a bathhouse and showers. On the territory of the border outpost there are places for the storage and repair of equipment, enclosures for service dogs. A border service camp and sports facilities have been created to conduct classes with military personnel.
