Politician Ilya Yashin was transferred from the Moscow SIZO-4 to SIZO-1 in Udmurtia. This is reported by his lawyers.
“Information from lawyers: Yashin was transferred to SIZO-1 of Udmurtia (Izhevsk). So Ilya and his family (my mother just signed up for a date on the 29th) were congratulated on the upcoming New Year, ”the oppositionist tweeted.
Yesterday, the secretary of the capital's PMC, Alexei Melnikov, said that Yashin was transferred to an unknown region. He noted that this happened before the entry into force of the court decision in the politician's case.
In early December, Ilya Yashin was sentenced to 8.5 years in prison in the case of spreading military «fakes» based on political hostility (point «e» of part 2 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code). According to the prosecution, in April, the oppositionist discussed the massacre of civilians by the Russian military in Bucha, Ukraine, although he was «reliably aware» that the photos and videos of dead people were a provocation of the «Kyiv regime.»
