MINSK, Dec 28 social networks reports about the alleged exposure of personnel at the Belarusian nuclear power plant in April are fakes.
Earlier, the telegram channel «Euroradio» (the resource was recognized as extremist in Belarus, blocked in the republic and in the Russian Federation) reported that personnel of the Belarusian nuclear power plant were exposed to radiation in April of this year. Allegedly, this became known as a result of a leak of information about a letter with a corresponding subject from the system of appeals to the state bodies of Belarus. At the same time, the reports claimed that the alleged incident coincided with the official announcement of a planned preventive maintenance at the station.
«Information about the exposure of personnel at the BelNPP is fake,» the press service of the ministry said in a statement. It is emphasized that the messages that appeared in individual telegram channels do not correspond to reality.
«Multilevel automatic protection systems operating at the station ensure the safe work of personnel and exclude the possibility of radiation exposure in the controlled access zone above the permissible limits,» the message emphasizes.
The Ministry of Energy of Belarus noted that «all work within the framework of preventive maintenance, including partial refueling of fresh nuclear fuel at the first power unit of the BelNPP, was carried out in strict compliance with the requirements and international standards established by supervisory authorities.» «These technological works have been carried out in the regular mode,» the ministry's press service stated.
