MINSK, Dec 29 Incident with a missile launched into Belarus is a deliberate provocation by the Ukrainian side in order to sow discord between Belarus and Russia, Sergei Dik, a member of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly (the lower house of the Belarusian parliament), said on Thursday.
«This is a provocation, this is a deliberate provocation to try to split the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus. And this is not accidental, because just a few days ago, very successful negotiations in Minsk between the presidents (of the Russian Federation Vladimir — ed. .) Putin and (Belarusian Alexander — ed.) Lukashenko,» Dick said on the evening air of the ONT TV channel.
The parliamentarian suggested that the incident is aimed at casting a shadow on the unprecedented trust achieved by Moscow and Minsk.
Earlier on Thursday, the Ministry of Defense of Belarus reported that the republic's air defense forces hit a missile, the fragments of which fell near the village of Gorbakha, Ivanovo district, Brest region, it turned out to be an S-300 anti-aircraft guided missile fired from the territory of Ukraine. Currently, specialists from the Investigative Committee, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Ministry of Defense are working at the scene. There were no casualties.
