UN, Dec 30 Employees of the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the UN do not contact with Russian colleagues at the direction of the head of the Ukrainian mission, Sergei Kislitsa, Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, said during an audio conference on his Telegram channel, while he expressed the hope that this situation would change sooner or later.
According to him, there could be situations when representatives of Moscow and Kyiv could discuss some subjects without television cameras, «including those concerning the international situation now.»
«There were attempts to hold consultations, closed meetings, where Ukrainians could participate. But then they themselves realized that these consultations would not differ in any way from a regular meeting — there would be the same hysteria of Mr. Kislitsa. What's the point of losing time for that,» Polyansky said.
In his opinion, because of such attitude of the head of his delegation, «Ukrainians do not use a channel for dialogue» with their Russian colleagues.
«But this is their choice. And I hope that the situation will change after some time, because sooner or later we will have to speak anyway. Better sooner rather than later,» concluded the Deputy Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN.
