UN Dec 30 that the ongoing supply of arms to Kyiv is delaying the end of the conflict, Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, said during an audio conference on his Telegram channel.
According to him, «representatives of very many states come up, they say that they understand why we act the way we do.»
«And there are quite a lot of such countries. There are also representatives of Western countries who can come up and express understanding, regret that they are forced to voice some line,» Polyansky said.
«We do not expect them to speak into the microphone from our positions. But we see very well how the position of developing countries, first of all, is evolving towards equidistance. Now many people say that the conflict it is necessary to complete and efforts must be made so that the conflict is resolved,» he stressed.
As Polyansky pointed out, «the vast majority of states understand that arms supplies to Ukraine do not bring the conflict closer to an end.»
Earlier, Russia sent a note to NATO countries because of arms supplies to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that any cargo that contains weapons for Ukraine will become a legitimate target for Russia. The Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation stated that the NATO countries are «playing with fire» by supplying weapons to Ukraine. Peskov noted that pumping Ukraine with weapons from the West does not contribute to the success of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations and will have a negative effect.
