The Ufa garrison military court sentenced Salavat Mirasov, a resident of Bashkortostan, to three years in a penal colony in the case of unauthorized abandonment of a military unit during mobilization (part 5 of article 337 of the Criminal Code). Kommersant was told about this in the press service of the court.
Mirasov was also charged 14,000 rubles as a reward to his public defender.
According to the prosecution, in January, the serviceman signed a two-year contract. In July, “not wanting to participate in a special military operation,” he did not return from vacation to his unit in the city of Chebarkul in the Chelyabinsk region. Until October, Mirasov lived in the Uchalinsky district of Bashkortostan, he arrived at the military registration and enlistment office only in October after the announcement of mobilization.
The objector admitted his guilt and repented. At the trial, he claimed that he did not return to the unit because he helped his father, a disabled person of the second group. However, the judge did not consider this a mitigating circumstance, since the elderly man has a sister who can look after him.
In mid-December, a military court in Chelyabinsk sentenced a contractor to 5 years and 1 month in prison. According to Mediazona, from January to early December, the courts received 948 cases of unauthorized abandonment of the unit. Against the background of the war, there are more cases than in 2021. Especially noticeable growth begins in the summer.
