Roskomnadzor blocked the website of the Eyewitnesses project, which tells the stories of people whose lives were changed by the war in Ukraine. This was announced by its editor-in-chief Viktor Muchnik.
The Roskomnadzor registry confirms the blocking information. At the same time, the department did not specify at the request of which authority the site was blocked. According to the GlobalCheck service, all operators have already restricted access to the Witnesses domain. Muchnik said that the project will continue to publish materials on social networks.
Viktor Muchnik is a former chief editor of the independent Tomsk TV2. He launched the Eyewitnesses project together with the TV channel team in the spring. In March, TV2 announced that it would stop working after blocking the site.
“Now a large-scale historical event is taking place that will change the lives of many people forever. And I have witnesses of what is happening — ordinary people to whom I can come with a camera and talk. I thought that some historian from the future would thank me for this,” Muchnik told Meduza about the Eyewitness project.
