«The death toll… has risen to 51, another 19 people are missing,» the agency said in a statement.
It is reported that the region of Northern Mindanao in the south of the country «took the brunt of the disaster.» Among the missing were fishermen whose boats capsized.
Floods are observed in the eastern, central and southern parts of the Philippines. At least 22 cities and municipalities have declared a state of emergency. Power and water supplies have been disrupted in some areas. The state supplies food and necessary things to the victims in the regions.
