In cafes and restaurants on Beregovaya Street in Rostov-on-Don, they posted instructions about the search for six armed prisoners recruited by the Wagner PMC, Donday reports.
The publication published a photo of the orientation. It says that the line department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for water transport received information that from December 21 to 22, the convicts left the training center in the Krasnodonsky district of the self-proclaimed LPR.
Among the fugitives, according to the agency, there are citizens of Russia, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan, as well as three citizens of Uzbekistan. Residents of the Rostov region, bordering the Krasnodonsky district, were asked to pay attention to people in military uniform and be vigilant.
The information about the escaped Donday prisoners was confirmed by a law enforcement source. The Rostov transport police refused to comment on the 1rnd publication «the situation with the search.»
The founder of PMC Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, through the press service of his company Concord, answered the question of 1rnd journalists as follows: “I have all the necessary information. <…> The National Guard, the police and the security service of PMC «Wagner» are engaged in catching various kinds of armed people. And, believe me, at different levels, starting from the advanced LPR, DPR and the territory of Russia, many villains are being detained, whom you don’t even need to know about. So sleep well.”
The fact that prisoners are being recruited for the war with Ukraine became known in the summer. Representatives of Wagner PMC and Prigozhin himself came to the colony. It is difficult to estimate the number of those recruited, but the statistics of the Federal Penitentiary Service show that by the end of October, the prison population of Russia had decreased by 23,000 people. Volunteers are promised payments and pardons, and for desertion they are threatened with executions.
