DONETSK, Jan 3 Ukrainian troops again opened fire on Donetsk , having fired a total of seven shells of «NATO» caliber of 155 millimeters at the Kyiv and Kuibyshev districts of the city, the DPR representative office at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Issues Related to War Crimes of Ukraine (JCCC) reported.
«Fire was recorded from the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (Armed Forces of Ukraine — ed.) in the direction: 19.45 — the settlement of Karlovka — the city of Donetsk (Kuibyshevsky district): two shells with a caliber of 155 millimeters were fired; 20.05 — the settlement of Netailovo — the city of Donetsk (Kievskiy and Kuibyshev districts): five shells of 155 mm caliber were fired,» the representative office said in a message on the Telegram channel.
Kyiv district of Donetsk is located in the northern part of the city. Here are Miner's Square, Kyiv Prospekt, the railway station, the Donbass Arena football stadium. Artem Street, the main artery in the city, also ends here. Since 2014, when the DNR declared independence from Kyiv following a coup d'état there, the area has been regularly shelled by Ukrainian security forces.
