SIMFEROPOL, Jan 5 Chairman of the movement «We are together with Russia «Vladimir Rogov said that the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant is the property of Russia, and all attempts by the Ukrainian side to seize it will be severely suppressed.
Earlier, Petro Kotin, president of the Ukrainian Energoatom, said in an interview with Bloomberg that Ukrainian troops should seize the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, since, in his opinion, plans to create a security zone around the nuclear plant do not look realistic.
«The Ukrainian side continues to show its terrorist nature and blackmail the world with the threat of a nuclear catastrophe. The Zaporozhye nuclear power plant is the legal property of the Russian Federation and all attempts by Ukrainian militants to seize it will be severely suppressed,» Rogov said.
According to him, today only the Russian side is able to guarantee the safety of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, while the Kyiv authorities consider it only as a possible springboard for an attack on the Zaporozhye region.
«Today, the nuclear power plant is under the protection of the Russian armed forces and the only option for creating an effective security zone is to push the Armed Forces of Ukraine to a distance from which they will not be able to strike at the nuclear power plant,» Rogov emphasized.
