CHISINAU, Jan 8 The European Parliament will continue to support Moldova in the process its European integration, the press service of the government of the republic reported.
Prime Minister of Moldova Natalia Gavrilitsa completed her working visit to Germany on January 8, where she participated in the meeting of the parliamentary group of the Christian Social Union in the Bundestag, and also met with the head of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola.
«The European Parliament will continue to support Moldova in the process of preparing for accession to the European Union. The steps that the republic's authorities should take were discussed in Berlin at a meeting between Gavrilitsa and Metsola. The Moldovan prime minister stressed that the government will support reforms that will improve the quality of life in Moldova and increase the economic stability of the country.The issues of the security situation in the region, the crises caused by the events in Ukraine were also discussed,» the press service of the Moldovan government noted.
The heads of states and governments of the European Union at the summit in Brussels on June 23 last year approved granting Ukraine and Moldova the status of candidates for joining the union. In October, Moldova hosted the first meeting of the commission on European integration, which discussed the need for reforms in various areas and called for the creation of 35 working groups to remake local legislation to European standards.
